Awareness
Together with all the participants we aim to create a space where everybody can feel as comfortable as possible. We want to care for each other and ourselves and find softness in interaction. A tent for recovery and retreat is available for all participants. There is a tent available to rest or retire.
Barriers
The venue is a place where people live in caravans in Bethlehem, Bern on a forest glade. The venue ist gritty but wheelchair accessible, even if not ideal to be honest. There is a wheelchair accessible toilet. It is possible to access the venue by car for transport. Please possibly park your car at the edge of the forest. A shuttle by car will be arranged for people who can’t get to the festival by foot.
Finances
The Tortenessen is a benefi event. All proceeds (minus expenses of course) will go to trans people in Kosovo. At Tortenessen everything is based on collection. Everybody can give (or not) what they can for food, performances, workshops, cakes, nailpolish …
Financial resources shouldn’t be a reason for not taking part at the festival. If you need support for travel expenses , don’t hesitate to write us an email (info@tortenessen.ch).
Food
A voluntary, fantastic collective will chook for us saturday and sunday. All food is vegan and the kitchen team aims to cover all the individual allergies and needs. the kitchen team is very happy about support, you can fill yourself in the schedule on spot.

Languages
At Tortenessen, different languages will be spoken. All people are asked to be considerate of each other and to adapt their language and/or translate if necessary. For the Saturday afternoon program, we will try collectively to arrange whispered translations on the spot (we’re gonna need you there :).
Location
Tortenessen is taking place at Wagenplatz Bethlehem in Bern. Most activities take place outdoors. For workshops and certain acts there are huge tents (like for circus shows). The area is pebbly but accessible for wheelchairs. The Wagenplatz is located in the forest 15 minutes walking distance from the Bern Melchiorstrasse bus stop (take the “Postauto” number 101, direction Kappelenring from main station Bern). The route from the bus stop will be signposted. A shuttle by car can be arranged for people can’t get to the Wagenplatz by foot. There is a car parking area right at the edge of the forest. Please leave your cars there and take the last distances by foot (or shuttle, see above).

Sleeping place
There is room for tents. However, this place is limited so please try and share tents if possible.
Who we are
The organisation of Tortenessen is being provided non-paid by a small collective. At the festival itself, however, all the participants are called to make the festival happen. Everybody is asked to help and support after one’s own capability with cooking, cleaning, awareness, setting up and demounting, baking cakes and more.
Who is Tortenessen for?
SATURDAY is open to all people who do not reconize themselves in the hetero-cis-world and/or locate themselves in the spectrum of queerness or are seeking. SUNDAY is also open to their friends. Let’s create a space where we judge each other less. Come and show yourself as you want to be seen.
